You can buy whatever is cheaper and then upgrade for free to Windows 10 for DirectX12 support.

Win 7, but probably go to win 8, it really doesnt matter, upgrade it to Win 10 when DX 12 comes around.

I'll be the one to say linux just because I love it so much. but if you want windows get windows 8 for gaming.

I am a member of the PCMasterRace. I am terribly sad to announce that I own a PeasantStation 3 Super Slim. it's in a drawer away from my glorious PC.

apparently 8.1 is much "lighter" than 7  so in theory it would be better for games.

Windows 7 codes are cheaper at G2A. You can still upgrade to 10 for free from 7.

Just get Windows 7 and take the free upgrade to 10 before the 1 year free upgrade window is over.

 

We won't be getting DX12 games (good ones at least) for a while. And Win10 still has stuff yet to get fixed.

I'll be getting a PC within this week or so. Which has 8 Installed. So I can upgrade to 10 within a year from that day or is it like standard for everyone?

u can game on linux?

of course you can. welcome to the world of linux. you can install steam and play the SteamOS/Linux compatible games and also you can run games not natively supported under wine and playonlinux.
