CPU kill's my GPU perfomance

Hey guy's and gril's i want to ask you does my cpu impact my gpu performance.

CPU:  AMD Athlon II X2 245

GPU: MSI R9 270x Gaming

Im using old cpu from AMD Athlon II X2 245 whit stock clock speed and fan and i have MSI amd radeon 270x and it's oc to Core clock is 1140MHz and the Memory is 5880MHz

Mostly i play only 2 games on my pc and they are World of Tank and Armored Warfare and both of them are on the low settings and i get only 30-35-40max fps. I sow a lot of other youtubers playing this games whit medium or high setting and get like 40+ fps

I hope u can understand me  and maybe say that i dont need to buy new cpu now  :D

You need a new cpu, maybe a i3 with a h81 board will do good.

Armored warfare you should be just fine but world of tanks its recommended to get a quad core cpu.

Well thank you that was fast  :)

Now because i have Asrock 970 Pro3 R.2 motherboard will AMD FX-8350 be good its not that expensive if i only buy the cpu.

Armored warfare runs like crap on my PC too, it isn't even in beta yet so don't expect anything good even if you do upgrade.

WoT will be fine though, and the FX-8350 isn't a very good CPU for gaming either.

yeah the 8350 will do decently in games. not as well as intel CPUs though. not sure if your board can handle the 8350 either

Try overclocking? Even on stock cooler you might squeeze some juice out of it.

Yea i did from 2.9MHz to 3.1-3.2 it runs for 20 minutes and then the blue screen.

Now i su*k at oc or cpu just cant take it :)

xD time for new cpu

you could buy used and save a buck. but if you have money, i do suggest going with overclockable i5. not only will benefit you 10000x in those two games, you will be able to play games many years to come and if you want, upgrade gpu in future.

This MoBo won't run the 8350, even if says it's compatible, not enough juice (mosfet). At best, the CPU will throttle, at worst, the caps will go "plop"!

Grab 6300 and OC it to 4.5+ GHz. You won't see a difference in games.

NO,

Fx 6300 if you have a AM3+ motherboard.

I can run my 8320 on a MSI 970a g43. You just cant overclock it

PC is Intel Core i5 6400, GIgabyte H170 Gaming 3, Corsair Vengeance LPX 2x4GB 2400Mhz ,Sandisk Ultra Plus 128GB, WD Blue 1TB, NZXT S340, ASUS Geforce GTX 960. Fractal Design Tesla R2 650W. http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/793XNG. Graphics card choices don't always have to be dictated on performance. If you want the game stream and power consumption of the GTX 970 get that. If you want raw performance of the R9 390 get that. In the end we are all gamers, so what if your buddy gets an extra 5 fps?

The 8350 is more power hungry than the 8320 (4GHz/4.2GZ turbo vs 3.5GHz/4GHz turbo).

When pulling too much power, the CPU throttles due to mobo protection, in order for the mofsets not to burst (which happened anyway with my G43...).

But they both consume 125W TDP

In theory: how could a 4GHz CPU consumes the same as a 3.5GHz CPU using a lower vCore?

There are very few MoBo's out there that really support the 8350 at its best. The 990FX Sabertooth is one of them (not the Gen3), so is the Asrock 990FX Extreme9.

A better bet would be a FX 6 cores. It OC well on most MoBo's and games just as good as the 8 cores.

I am not sure what motherboard you have but if its a FX compatible one, then get a FX-4300 or FX-6300 (if it can handle 95W)

Or if you like used CPUs then you can also consider Phenom II X4 965?

Or you can buy a new Athlon X4 860K and a MSI-A88XM-E35, Socket-FM2+ that is a nice option to! ;)
