What i3?

Go to solution Solved by ismokebudz,

Thanks everybody!

Looking to build a little rig just to do mostly Internet gaming/surfing and mmo games. Downloading music and movies etc.... I understand a i3 will do the job and not break the pockets, my question is witch one? There are so many it seems like. And is there a cheaper i5 comparison?

I'd say the i3-4160 is a great all rounder.

For a Core i3, you can get the 4170.

4160 or 4170 if it's just a tad bit more expensive.

As for i5, i5 4440 is closest in price and you could go for a 2nd hand i5 2500k (but look out, the motherboard are not always cheap)

The 4100 series is usually the best.

The 4300 series has a better integrated GPU, which won't make a noticeable difference. Only get them if you don't pay extra.

The T and TE chips aren't recommended. Those cost often more and deliver less performance.
