Hello :) I saw these "Antistatic gloves" on a computers shop website and I'm wondering if they're good/effective. If they're effective , Then thats good because you dont have to worry about where to plug the other end of the wristband and they cost the same as antistatic wristbands. I'm building a PC next week and the whole house is carpeted (I'm even planning to build it in the bathroom) and I just want to be safe.

I've seen a few talking about when I googled it , but nothing else. https://m.cyberport.de/p/teXXor-Antistatik-Handschuhe-Kupferfaser%2C-PU-beschichtet%2C-L--/5702-275 < This is the one I'm talking about.

Everything above.

Another step to do which a lot of people don't even know or think about, is to have power supply mounted in the case, switched off and connected to the mains (also switched off at the mains).

Do I need a wristband for this or?

If you're handling things like motherboards, CPUs and stuff which aren't connected to the case (outside of the case), then the method which i mentioned will do you no good whatsoever :P

Touching your case or a metal object will be absolutely fine though.

I'd only ever recommend wrist band when you're working on multiple computers, and moving from computer to computer as it's just easier to have a wristband, also when they're not yours... But other than that they're not necessary really.

I do use a pair, especially when I am working on a PC/laptop that's not mine. The gloves have the added bonus of blocking finger prints/oils from the components.

Are they effective? If so I'll just buy the gloves , they're only €5. Better safe than sorry.
