I think it's most likely artificating. Have you OC'ed your GPU? If so tone it down a bit

nope it's stock

Unstable OC or driver issue, or just the game being glitchy, but i don't think the gpu itself is broken because it doesn't look that bad.

Try putting them in different slots. And also one by one, so you know if one of them is faulty, and if it isnt ram related

should I just re-seat the ram?

thats a start, and then take out a stick and test/try different sockets to see if it is ram or mobo.

This is CERTAINLY a memory related issue or a driver related issue.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

It can be unstable overclock or the GPU drivers itself.

So you can set the GPU settings to default and/or roll back to older drivers.

Then hope that it can fix the problem.

If it doesn't fix the problem then it's the GPU itself, it's dying.

Lot of conflicting answers on here. So, try these out, just some general troubleshooting tips for graphics problems.

  • Swap display cables/ports for your monitor
  • Rollback to the previous stable driver
  • Reseat ram
  • Test using iGPU if you have one on your chip

dead GPU, RMA it.

Could be this.

My 5770 did this on the way out or something similar.

If you have a spare video card you could try installing that and see if the same issues present themselves or you could install your 970 into another PC. If it is a memory issue and reseating hasn't helped you could run Memtest86.

its not ur ram dont worry, u wouldnt be able to even be in windows right now if u had unstable ram that bad it would artifact

even having ur ram 1cas tighened can blow up a windows in a instant at boot ( if its unstable, and ofcourse it is file corruption then )

its either a driver issue with the card(gpu) or a hardware issue(gpu)

Try underclocking, and if that fixes everything, you need to RMA it.

However, could be an issue with drivers.

Wrong. GPU's artifact when they are unstable and unable to process the workload.
