Are Function keys important anymore?

I just read something that explained what each Function key is for.

Yes, I use F5 to refresh a lot

the only useful function (gaming keyboards only ;x) thing is like the scroller for volume, and maybe 1 custom macro button ( lol yeh 1 )

 

thats all i use on my g19 really...

 

f5 refresh epic too , but barely use it hahaha

F5 is bound to my mouse button on the side of my g500. F6 for going into the search box of a browser. That's about it, F12 for screenshots.

ctrl r work fine too , i barely use refresh though   using f12 alot for screenshots in games ;x

They're a lot more useful productivity wise than you'd think. Be it in a browser environment or file management

As someone who still uses IRC, F6 is used a lot for me.

every keys had their own purposed for the owner

I don't even know why someone need to ask this

 

with Fn keys, from F1-F12 had their own function

with Fn

F1 Skip previous (for video/audio playback)

F2 Skip next (for video/audio playback)
F3 Home

F4 Email button

F5 Refresh

F6 Play/pause

F7 Stop

F8 Slow/skip previous

F9 Faster/skip next

F10 Audio -

F11 Audio +

F12 Mute

 

and it could be easily remapped to another key

and again these keys most of time are used for games

F1 skill 1

F2 Skill 2, and so on.
