I definitely suggest The Godfather by Mario Puzo. It reaches a depth that the movies never reached. Best book I've ever read.

I also recommend any of the Bourne books or any book by James Rollins if you like high paced action.

And for classics, The Tale of Two Cities is good, as well as The Odyssey (pretty difficult to read). Books are great. :)

Donald E. Westlake for short humor based crime novels. For tech related books "Just for Fun" by Linus Torvalds, "Rebel Code" by Glyn Moody about history of open source, "The Pixar Touch" by David A. Price about history of Pixar. For fantasy I'd say go for Margaret Weis & Tracy Hickman Dragonlance books or R. A. Salvatore Forgotten Realms. Or one of my favorites, Ursula K. LeGuin's Earthsea saga. For easier reading is Eoin Colfers Artemis Fowl series.
