We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

I'm wondering if all of these will work together. Also I don't know how to choose a case or fans or a heat sink so if you could provide some links to some that will work that'd be great.

what is your reasoning. my reasoning is they're bad for overkill builds like tripple sli x99 builds?

My reasoning is the amount of people who constantly say how poorly the build quality is on them.

What the hell is wrong with taking people's word? Tons of people say the CX series isn't the best. There are better things for the money like EVGA B series. http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/404921-strmfrmxmns-psu-whitelist/?view=findpost&p=5457987 This is a list of generally good PSU's.

Also, OP please make a PCPP list.

because its "misinformed information" and yea there are always better things for anything on the market for the same price....

Corsair uses cheap components in the higher wattage CX series. We should recommend OP the best for their money, not something that is just okay.

They are bad for overkill builds and entry builds. To me this is a entry build, generally anyone who buys a 4690k is gonna overclock. If op plans on overclocking his CPU and or his GTX 970 ( a lot of people overclock the GTX 970 also ) Then yes this PSU is bad. Generally I avoid them 95% of the time because I can always find something better ( 95% of the time ) for around the same price. This would be a different story if he had a locked CPU and no plans to overclock his GPU.

@Ronnie76 As that PSU isn't the best it sure isn't the worst. It's a heck of a lot better then a CX, I'd consider it an entry level which is Kindda what this build is. The B2 Series are a LOT better.

For $1200 you won't get much better then this without loosing out on quality, looks, and reliability. This is a black/red themed build and has everything you want and more. The 390x will also perform better then the GTX 970 and close to a GTX 980.
