Full speed fans at startup

S3NTI3NT

Hi,

Whenever I turn my computer on, my case fans go full speed at startup. The fans are connected to my motherboard which is an Asus P8Z77-V Pro. Is there a way to stop that from happening with BIOS or anything? THanks

Don't think so since I don't see any settings in the bios from my experience that fixes this.

A lot do. My board does the same. Although for only a few seconds, yours does it until you boot into OS?

My motherboard does the same. Why does it annoy you? It's only for about 2 seconds isn't it?

EDIT:One way to solve it is to simply not connect them to your motherboard. Get a fan controller.

Weird thing is even my sentry mix 2 fan controller does it with all my fans on startup also..

No it's kind of a standart protocol , it prevents dust and helps the fans live longer to my knowlege so it's actually good for the pc.

it is a voltage POST test.. all modern mobo, sub-systems do this.. run the fans off

a PSU directly and that won't happen. sometimes can be a bit loud..

no the fans do that because the motherboard has to get a temperature reading first for the fans to slow down..it takes a few seconds for it to get a reading

just connect them all to the PSU directly and use 7V adapters ;)

As far as i know, the fans spin in reverse to expel dust etc. AFAIK its normally limited to GPU and CPU fans but it may be possible your case fans are doing it too.
