The Nvidia driver installation failed, I just saw DDU rolled out a new version for Win 10 So I'm gonna give that a try, uninstall drivers and do that again, wish me luck.

WOW. That was pathetically simple. Why isn't this the "trick" going around everywhere.

I don't know, if you can find it on reddit it is pretty much aroung everywhere. Maybe people went with the "Reservation" thing so they don't even bother taking a look at that link, it is so simple.

no. just no.

an OS does not change FPS in games.

Not always true. 8 >  7 in general due to the lack of background usage. If you're running high end you'd never notice, but if you've got low-mid range specs it made ~15% difference...

Were you coming from 7? I clean installed 8.1 yesterday and the nVidia drivers I was using for 8.1 are the same as the ones I'm using for 10.

EDIT: Ugh, I forgot I already replied to this thread. Ignore my double post.

No, coming from 8.1. Every other driver migrated seamlessly, as soon as the computer booted up I went into Geforce Experience and it gave me a error message.

Yeah! Mine did the same, restarted, and it worked fine. It didn't have a chance to download a new driver..

Though I will say that I had to dial back my OC from 1592 to 1542 to keep stability in SC. >.>

EDIT: Oh. New  problem. I had my third display on the left on my X1 so I had no clue, but apparently it's not being detected by my GPU... which is weird because they're all daisy-chained together and it's the source monitor...?!

I chose the option to keep my files and apps and it picked up all my drivers right away, speakers, wireless adapter, microphone etc. I'm now downloading the Windows 10 64bit Nvidia driver for my 970s.

Did your win32 apps stay as well?

First of all you get the option to create a bootable USB drive or to install right away in the current PC. After that, you get the option to do a fresh install or to keep your files and applications (which I chose) other than that when it first boots it asks you all the usual if you want express intallation or you want to choose your settings (you can change these later on)

Thanks, one more question is there the terrible "windows.old" foler? :P

Yes since I didn't do a fresh install I have that backup folder, if you want you could just erase it without any problems.

Microsoft office, video games, ect. These apps are coded for 32 bit most of the time only. Not the apps from the windows store.

Nice! I remember with other versions of Windows it was a pain in the ass to remove that folder.

In windows 10 you are led to believe that you can turn off reporting, but you really can't. Microsoft will take whatever information they want from your PC while " Reporting Errors". I, myself will not be upgrading until the first Service Pack is available.[emoji33]
