How do I recover a write protected drive?

FaZe Rain

I have a 16gb "GorillaDrive" flash drive that i have barely even used. Ive had it for 5 months, and I've only ever used it for DLC maps on Xbox360 Black Ops 2. There are 4 map packs on the drive, and it was about 14GB full when it started to act funny. Firt, it wouldnt load certain maps from it, then is suddenly rejected any maps to load from it. Any advice on how to recover the drive is greatly appreciated.

You can always wipe it by connecting it to your computer.

When I attempt to format it, an error tells me that it is write protected. :(

Here's some instructions on using diskpart to format a USB drive, if that's what you're trying to do. http://www.doztech.net/howto/format-your-flash-drive-with-diskpart/

CPU: i5 4670k • Cooler: Corsair H100i • Motherboard: MSI Z87 MPOWER • RAM: Crucial Ballistix Elite 2x 8GB • Storage: Samsung 840 250GB SSD, 2x WD Red 3TB • GPU: EVGA GTX 780 3GB • PSU: Corsair RM750W • Case: Corsair 750D • Mouse: Razer Naga 2012 (I actually use the thing for productivity/media buttons) • Keyboard: Ducky Shine 3 w/ Browns - Green LED • Monitor: Asus PB278Q 27" 2560 x 1440, ASUS PB238Q 23" 1920x1080 • Lighting: 2m NZXT Sleeved Blue LED Strip • pcpartpicker.com/p/3cHfZ
