Sony: 1080p 60fps Makes A Huge Difference

While I get what you're saying but athletics and graphics have a great effect on the experience for me, unless it's an FPS games I'm fine with everything on low except for the models. 

 

*shurgs* it's smooth for me, everyone has different standards, 30 FPS is perfectly fine for me and it's smooth.

Subjectively it might be "smooth" for you, but it isn't, at least not with good motion blur, and most games can't get motion blur right.

You need to get motion blur right in videogames if you want to call 30FPS "smooth".

And even then, it doesn't look as smooth as 60FPS.

 

60FPS is not my standard, my PC is crap so it can't keep 60FPS on all games, but I know 30 doesn't look smooth.

Did I say 60fps is as smooth as 30FPS ? no I didn't and I said 60FPS is better go check.

I call it smooth cause it is in my eyes as it doesn't lag for me and it doesn't jitter.

When it comes to Uncharted, it gets things done on console or otherwise humiliates others into actually trying/improving.

 

I can't wait to play Uncharted 4. :)

It may look smooth to you, but it isn't.

I would call it bare minimum or consistent, but not smooth.

I wonder how many games will look rubbish just so they can run at 1080p/60fps.

 

I would certainly prefer worse looking games at 60 FPS.

 

Nintendo knows whats up.  Wii U is the best system this gen because of it.

You can't really dictate to someone that what they perceive is wrong, though. If 30 frames per second appears to be smooth to him, then it does. Different people have different tolerances for it - if it was as big of a deal as people make out in the PC gaming community then it would have been commented on a lot in the console gaming community. They've had access to plenty of 60fps titles for a long time (Call of Duty being a primary example) but continue to enjoy 30fps games regardless.

 

If I'm playing a game with mouse and keyboard, 30 fps is generally unpleasant for me. If I'm playing it with controller and the framerate is consistently at 30fps I find it perfectly fine.

I'm not trying to change his opinion at all, hell, in some situations I will agree with him 100%.

What I was trying to say is that 30FPS is not smooth, at least not when compared to 60FPS, much like saying that 50KM/h is fast, when compared to 100KM/h.
