980 ti brand recommendation

danielhowk

Asus Strix & Gigabyte G1 are the top 2, with the MSI & the EVGA(version with backplate) coming in a close 2nd.  I don't trust Zotac as I had one of their older cards up and quit on me after only 6 months.

zotac 980ti was better compared to previous generations . or so i heard.

The K|NGP|N cards tend to be best in class.   They are specifically binned and tested.

While not completely accurate, think of them as hand made vs. production line cards.

would u recommend kingpin , msi g6, zotac amp extreme ?

If you really want to go all out then the K|NGP|N card.  Although I feel any EVGA card will suit you well.

was deciding between Classfied EVGA or  Superclock + acx2+ or MSI gaming 6G.

looking for best temps and quiet sounding. i think those 3 cards are pretty close. but i prefer to decide on one of those which have the slightly upper edge

Lets be honest.  The real answer is that you can't go wrong with any of the brands we are talking about.   I am a bit Biased towards EVGA due to their amazing warranty and customer service.   Warranty is not voided if you water cool and they have 24/7 Tech support.

In addition my last few EVGA cards have been overclocking monsters.  With my current reference EVGA card Overclocking to higher than K|NGP|N levels.  So imagine how well a higher binned card should do.

That being said all the cards mentioned are great.

The classified is better, it has a higher boost clock rate. That being said though the boost clock of my EVGA SC+ was 100 mhz higher than specified out the box and its a great overclocker

Why does everyone think ASUS, must be good, ASUS are starting to become terrible now, their monitors are starting to have lots of problems, their GPUs have problems, their customer support has problems, soon it will be their Motherboards, do not get the GTX 980ti Strix, it is loud and has a terrible cooler on it. I would get EVGA Classified, MSI Gaming or wait for the MSI Lightning to come out.

for air cooling ? evga sc+ acx2+ or classfied ? cause classfied is specialist for liquid cooling. but air cooling in comparison after overclocking. is classfied really better than sc+ acx2+ in terms of air cooling only

MSI or EVGA :) doesnt really matter since they both have 0 db mode, that is essential, i really love it on my 960 (msi)

When buying an Nvidia GPU I will only buy EVGA because of the fact that they may not be the prettiest but they are damn well some of the best, if you go for a classified model you are getting hands down one of the best performing 980ti, and the Kingpin is an absolute monster

I always thought of Zotac as an offbrand but they are very good, I feel MSI is good as well, but I hear the customer support rivals ASRock. I have never used an MSI GPU so I can not personally vouch

My vote is for the MSI 980 TI Gaming Edition or the EVGA Classified or Hybrid. Your call what U want or need more.

Well the Asus one will probably take a long time to get in stock due to some manufacturing error.

I heard allot of good stuff about the amp extreme, but keep in mind that it us a 3 slot card. So if you ever want to sli make sure you have enough space.

Evga generally has good cards plus good warranty, but if you get a superclocked one you will have a reference pcb.

Msi has custom pcb. Is very quite while staying cool. And I heard it is a good overclocker but don't quote me on that.

I have two Msi one and they run at 1450 on core and 8gb on the memory

( the same as the Lightning for less money,

Temps hit 80 on top card but when runnin one it hits 77 )

AMD (and proud) r7 1700 4ghz-

also (1600)

asus rog crosshairs vi hero x370-

MSI 980ti G6 1506mhz slix2 -

Been looking at a 980 ti myself, when it comes to support i would def go with evga, their support is amazing. I had the pleasure of having to deal with MSI support lately aswell and it is absolutely horrible, atleast here in Europe.
