Hey!

I have finally have a outlook of my build thanks to everyone that helped me on my previous post that helped me pick the parts.

(link to that post here:http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/40626-600-bang-for-buck-amd-gaming-pc/)

I have upgraded the build by choosing a better motherboard, gpu, cpu cooler, case, and ram. I went with only 1 dimm of 8gb ram cause I want to be able to upgrade to 32gb in the future.

Take a look at the build here on pcpartpicker:http://pcpartpicker.com/user/sribeast21/saved/24WA

The original price was $749. But being the extreme couponer I am, I reduced it to $658. I want the forums opinion, comments, suggestions, advice, different part ideas on this build. It will be greatly appreciated and certainly taken into consideration so comment below!

peace,

sribeast21

It's a nice build, Can't really speak for the motherboard, if i were you though, i'd upgrade the PSU. 600 watts for future proofing etc, i can't speak for cooldermaster psus but i can sau corsair has fantastic quality in theirs, Also if you can spend 750, Get an SSD.

The motherboard is a 970 chipset, crossfire capable, really good quality asus, uefi bios all for $95. really useful for overclocking. 600w sounds like a good idea. and in terms of the company for psu, Im thinking seasonic but cooler master had a great rebate so i chose that. I am going to change my psu, so I want to now buy seasonic or corsair. btw, I checked your build would you recommend that corsair 600w psu you have. seems nice. and I cant spend 750 now, Im thinking for cable sleeving and an ssd as a upgrade in around 2 years when my pc starts to get slow. and the cable sleeving because i can

Change the MOBO... I have an Asus one (2 years older than that one) and it works horribly... My front audio is KO and it does shitty overclocking.

Personally i would swap it out for a Asrock 970 or an MSI.

I dont trust Asus mobos which are <200USD, its true that they have the best quality, but its not the one they use to build their low-mid boards...

Ive had problems with ALL of Asus's MOBOS Ive installed (4 of them, and ive built 10+ PCs)

The only other upgrade I would do would be a 8350(you would need to swap your north-bridge to a 990 MOBO) which would end up being 100USD more expensive.

By the way, if you dont intend to do video-editing I dont feel more than 8GBs are necessary.

Planning on trying StarCitizen (Highly recommended)? STAR-NR5P-CJFR is my referal link

Nice build , only complain i have is lack of SSD , it really makes the diference between a slow ass computer and a fast and snappy PC.

The ssd will be an upgrade after I get some money for a good ssd. Right now the 1tb hard drive should hold me till then. What do you guys think of the mobo, good enough?

Why not replace the CPU cooler with a Seidon 120M or Seidon 120XL Cooler they are about the same price and watercooling and perform better

I will look into them but a cheap water-cooler isn't as good as a mid-high end air cooler

I know it is better than the hyper 212 and the Seidon 120m is usually more expensive (£50 in the UK). The hyper 212 is good for the price but the Seidon 120M at $30 is a steal. Just get it :D

Here it is - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103179

Has $30 MIR

Thanks I will look into msi or asrock. The upgrade to the 8350 wont be for a few years. and If I was to upgrade to a 8350, do I have to change the chipset to a 990. Or will 970 chipset still be compatible with the 8350

The 970 will still be compatible, but it bottlenecks the CPU(it doesnt allow it to go 100%).

In a few years AMD will have much better CPUs, and a 8350 wont be a good acquisition.
