I currently have an AMD FX 6300 at stock speed with stock cooler. I want a new processor. FX 8320 or amd fx 8350. I will also be getting a 212 evo cooler. My max price is $250 CAD. I was thinking a320 then OCing to 4 ghz. Any advice would help but only AM3+ and I have a Gigabyte G1 GTX 970. I play CSGO and GTA V and I would like more fps in both. I get around 50 in gta and 150 in csgo. I would like 60+ in gta and 200+ in csgo. Also I would like to be future proof.

What about an 8370? That or an 8350

No point. Their would be a minimal performance gain.

If I go intel, I need a new mobo which is fun, but if I do what intel processor should I get?

4460, or Skylake equivalent if you don't mind waiting a month :)

The best budget one is a i5-4460 with a h81 mobo.

Just overclock your 6300 and a new cooler, I can play GTA 5 at over 60fps at High settings on my 650ti, No need to go Intel for what your playing.....

Then save up a little more and get Skylake or Zen, don't drop money on Hasewell right now and especially with an H board, if you do that then you won't be able to get into overclocking down the road if you want to.

If you are gonna spend more money than anticipated, i would save up for an unlocked I5 with a decent mobo, prolly wait for skylake. However if Zen lives up to the hype (We all hope so) then maybe a whole AMD build. The thing is considering that we are expecting both skylake and zen to be released within 2015-16 the best option right now, as boring as it sounds, is waiting, simply cause we are looking at a memory standard being changed and FINALLY something new from AMD so, right now isn't the best time to be building a new pc. That 6300 is still decent man, but IMHO if you are gonna make a change that's gonna cost you a lot of money, i think saving up for it and waiting for the right time pays off, particularly now with the current status of the CPU market. One investment i think would pay off for you now is a new cooler. Buy something high end and you will be able to use it later, if not, an hyper 212 evo. And overclock the living shit outta that 6300 cause when you got a cpu that's lacking, Overclocking becomes the practical step to take

Yea, I have my 6300 at 4.0Ghz with a Hyper T4, added a good amount of FPS to GTA and many other games, enough to hold me off for a big Zen upgrade if I like it :)

Edit: Also yes I meant I can play GTA 5 at over 60fps, thanks for catching that ;)

I need to say this, getting a locked i5 right now it's a terrible investement. We got skylake and zen, both using DDR4, which mean whatever rig you build from now on better be able to overclock since next upgrade will be mobo, cpu and memory, and if zen is what it needs to be, i'll be anticipating in an entire change of how CPU development is going. TIK TOK is as a stupid piece of shit concept as Ke$ha and im glad Intel couldn't keep it up this time

Hyper T4, or in your case get a nice water cooler that you can also use for when you upgrade if you want to overclock such as an h100i or something :)

How does this cooler look for  "Overclocking the shit out of it"?
