Go i7 4790k

Get a cheaper motherboard, about 100 bucks, anything from asus, msi, gigabyte, all good, and check if it's Z97, not Z87

Get 700w psu, more than enough, even for SLI later

Get 1 240gb-480gb ssd, no need to do raid, 1 ssd is fast enough.

If you want my attention, quote meh! D: or just stick an @samcool55 in your post :3

First go up to z97 for overclocking and don't paint it I recommend this motherboard http://us.msi.com/product/motherboard/Z97A-GAMING-9-ACK.html#hero-overview . Also go to the 4790k. And it also seems to be you are spending extra on area's and  not putting a graphics card.

I mean, if it is already built, that isn't a bad build at all. Not sure I would have picked some of those, but its not bad.

I have never heard of that RAM, and that PSU is WAY overkill. But, I don't know, maybe 800 bucks? Used stuff is hard, because there is no warranty unless he will for sure help you out if something brakes. You will need HIM to send the parts in and RMA them.

600 dollars is about what I would pay for it being used.

Everyone else seems to have missed the point of this. It's a pre-built.

Straight up agree with @SPG

if i were you, i would just save my money and build a brand new rig from scratch. you'll be more satisfied with it. there's a reason your friend is selling it.

I have asked him but he is a very good have known him for a long time so not much worry there

~snip~

Hey TAHIRMIA,

Just a small note from me:
If you are reusing old storage drives (regardless of the brand or if they are SSDs, HDDs, etc.) I would strongly suggest to check their health with a diagnostic utility provided by the manufacturer just to be on the safe side and ensure the safety of your data. For the WD Green drives that would be WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostic tool. I'd suggest to run both the quick and the extended tests in order the check the S.M.A.R.T. status of the drive as well as for any bad sectors that might have occurred. Here's a link to the tool: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=xZJXy9

Feel free to ask if you happen to have any questions that I might be able to help you with :)

Captain_WD.

If this helped you, like and choose it as best answer - you might help someone else with the same issue. ^_^
