Best 2.1 Computer Speakers under £500

Hi all,

As the title says, I am looking for the best 2.1 SS Speaker system for under £500.

I have had a look at the Bose Companion 50, and I am looking for other maybe better alternatives?

Thanks,

Jonathan

but for that amount of money you could easily set up your own custom system which could blow these computer dinky speakers out of the water.

I think that is waaaaaaaaaaay to bassy; I want clarity and perfection basically - not too bass heavy.

Thanks for the suggestion but I'm looking for a 2.1 kit mainly; though them speakers do sound real nice.

Hmmm so you're looking for a subwoofer too?

The clarity on these are pretty sick too! I have the m40x as comparison (which are known for their clarity) and they are really close! The speakers are slightly (very slightly) bassier to my taste :)

So if you don't want that much bass, why would you go for 2.1? Go 2.0 because in 2.1 all it does is add Subwoofer which is basically only for bass.

@Wiplive

I want some bass but not to the extent of that 10" Sub which is totally overkill.

I want an all around nice sound which I think the Bose Companion 50 will provide.

Thoughts?

I have two Nupro 200 and they allready have a quite good bass. If you go for the 300 serie or add the sub (called 350 as i recall correctly) you will have enougth even for a big room.

The sound is clear and not bass heavy. The sound is much better than the old Logitech 5.1 system, but they are also in an other prise level.
