New Computer.. my first custom build..

Guest Michelle68

This is the first time that I've done a custom build and I'm pretty excited so far.

Specs:

CPU: Intel i7 5930k

MOBO: ASUS X99-A

MEM: GSkill DDR4 2400 16gig

VIDCARD: NVidia GTX 980

HD: 2x Intel 240gig SSD

COOLER: H105 liquid cooling system

PS: EVGA 1000w Platinum

CASE: Corsair 750

I've been running Prime95 for about an hour so far and I've attached a screen shot of my current temps. My inspiration for building my own computer came from watching the LinusTechTips on YouTube. What an awesome group of guys and great videos.

There's only a 5930k, no non-k SKU exists.

Thank you, guys... I've never OC'd anything so I need to really do some research before I start fiddling around with the CPU. It is so freaking cool seeing this thing work after I built it.

Unless you plan on quad sli (unlike what most people claim specific boards do allow 3 way sli on the 5280k without PLX chips) there is no reason to spend the extra 200 dollars on a 5930k.

You get no benefit whatsoever.

@OP Congratz! Enjoy your build!

Wish I had the money to get a new build in general. AMD A6-3650 Master Race lol... I'll go cry now...

I've got about $400/$1800 though.
