Would Windows 10 let me do this?

Hai, first post on the forums, looks very cool here! ^-^

so, anyways here goes the question & info.

 

I have Windows 8.1 pro....(activated with Windows Toolkit so non-legit)

but it let me reserve Windows 10. So I assumed I'll get Windows 10 Pro non-legit.

I happen to be dual-booting so I have Windows 10 Pro Insider...so...

 

Will I be able to take the key from Windows 10 Pro Insider (once released)

and put it on my non-legit Windows 10 Pro, and just then delete the Insider?

 

I'd like some help on this as I can't find an answer for something like this & thanks for any/all help!

sound feasable.

 

i think even if windows 10 upgrades come to a non-legit version it will be a legit version of windows.

 

i'd just going to get another hacked and cracked win10 and make a disk of it anyway, even if windows gives me a legit version.

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

You will get win 10 pro non-legit version once the upgrade is available, and I guess we can wait and see if you can pop the license in, otherwise perhaps hop on over to http://reddit.com/r/microsoftsoftwareswap and get a copy of windows from there. (I got 8 pro [and upgraded to 8.1 pro cause it's free in the windows store] for $20, no issue at all with it.)

If it's KMS activated (via Toolkit) I have doubts. It may work, but ehh... There is word on Microsoft changing how KMS activation servers are set (Just tried to find the original source on this and couldn't find anything)

Thanks for the welcome, and I expected as much for the upgrade being non-legit, but I guess I'll wait and see. Also thanks for that website! I checked it out and it looked cool, never known reddit had that but thanks mate!

same thing they did for 7 and 8.

oops, shoulda specified/worded it better.

 

I got 8 pro for $20 from reddit, and the upgrade to 8.1 pro was free in the windows store.

Your not going to get windows 10 for free with your non genuine 8.1 system. You can get it for free by just staying in the insider program and using that on your main partition. As soon as you leave the program, you will need a legitimate key.

Since the system appears as 'genuine' to Microsoft, the HWID will be sent to MS servers during activation and you can activate Windows 10 pro permanently using a generic key.
