Custom Desk Build (Project Yellow Panther)

PeggersXtreme

Its looking good so far mate :)

for the watercooling bits I used specialtech, but thats gone now :(

Also used a couple of people from ebay, but forgot the names, for the last fittings I got

I used Aquatuning UK, although most the bits looked to have come from Germany, but they arrived within a day or

2 after ordering.

will depend on what fittings your after, as they dont all sell the same ones.

Thanks hope it will be done soon :)

and yeah specialtech going was a right bummer use to get a lot of parts there, Now I use OverclockersUK, WatercoolingUK or CandCentral I avoid Scan where possible because they never seem to have stock they say instock but then email saying they have delayed order due to stock shortage :/

I like the fit, fills up the blank space nicely. What are you doing for storage?

I have got a m.2 boot drive and then 4 x Samsung 850 evo's 250gb they will most probably be put in raid 0 as they are for my steam library and then I have got 2 x 4TB WD Blue SSHD drives for all my content creation and other files but I still need to work out where the 3.5" drives can go the SSD's should be easy to fit using Valcro.

I like it, I can see how hardline just wouldn't work here unless you went the expensive route and used a fitting for bends. Any plans for a drain?

As for storage I like what Parvum did. I got the idea for it when I was watching J2C build in one, 4:00 in it shows the bracket for it. Not sure how much room you have but in the custom one I'm trying to do it's what I'm using. 10:45 he talks about the back half of it and somewhere in there how the drive cage works.

Yeah looks good I pretty much have the ssd mounting idea but it's just the 3.5" drives cause they are kind of ugly I was thinking usb 3.0 enclosures but not sure what performance hit that would have usb can't really do multiple transfer at once. As for the drain I had no idea where to put it so I decided what I will do is put a spare fitting in the top of the res when ever I need to drain and just flip this thing over lol it's worked in past builds. I shouldn't have to drain to often I hope.

Any idea why my reservoir looks like it has like a steamy side never used colour fluid before always used distilled water in the past with coloured tube but this looks odd maybe it's just bubbles just don't get why it look like someone has breathed on the inside of the res :/

As for monitor what do you think would be better the Swift (TN) or the Acer IPS 144hz never owned an Acer lol trying to get advice from people before I buy.

Only thing I can think of would be condensation from a drastic temperature change on the glass (cool inside/warm outside) but I haven't dabbled to much with custom loops so I'm not the guy with answers there.

I've seen you post in the Acer X34 thread aswell but doesn't seem like that was an option anymore to you. Cold feet? I have an Acer TN panel right now (some junky 1080p I can't wait to get rid of) and I'm replacing it because I bought low, there isn't anything wrong with the panel itself but it being TN, 1080p, 60hz, 8ms GTG, non adjustable stand, etc. I've spent to much on my PC to have something like it. I like Acer as a brand and they haven't done anything to screw me over but then again neither has ASUS. For me, I like the Acer because of the panel but it just looks so ugly I'd also have to consider some sort of arm mount for it. The glossy black and rounded base with the tacky red is the worst thing I have ever seen.

I got that condensation problem on my desk (loop at 11°), and the res is dressed at horizontal.

For dodging this, I fully filled the res with coolant and let it gooooo, let it gooooOoooo!

I was put off the X34 because the 100hz overclock thing at users own risk

If its an built in overclocking feature, that they even advertice for, so should it be safe to use.

But its a lot of money, so best to sure you want it.

I speak my mind, sorry if thats a problem.

Just waiting for two 90 degree angle fittings to arrive then the build will be done. So annoying that you can't walk into a local PC store and pick up fittings in the UK especially when it's just for two fittings lol

Found the condensation issue it isn't condensation at all in my res it's the tube alpha cool use for the return flow it has bubbles stuck down the side of it and it's making it look like condensation in a big straight line bubble.

Getting frustrated that it's taken watercoolingUK over a week to get me two rotary fittings that's all I need now to finish the build you expect quicker delivery than this when you pay £5 for it.

Is that a Phobya Balancer Res? Love those Reservoirs first brand I ever bought I went with alphacool this time but so far I think phobya have the better design with the little divider plate thing at the bottom to stop the tornado effect happening.
