Hello everyone

In the next few months i will have a fair bit of free cash, and will probably be the only time for another year or 2 as i will then be buying a car moving out of home.

I would like to run all games on highest settings on a single 32' monitor at 1080p. I could possibly move up to a higher res if 32" screens become super affordable in the next 18 months which i doubt.

My current specs:

i7 2600k - Have an extreme water cooling set up ready to install so i will be overclocking to at least 4.6ghz

16GB Axevir Core RAM @ 1600mhz

ASrock Extreme 4 Motherboard

GTX 560

AX1200

Im planning on a GTX 770 2GB Sli. Why? Because i will buy one soon and another in 2 or 3 months i will water block it and overclock them.

What would you all recommend? 770 Sli beats 690 and titan in most benchmarks.

My main concern is the 2GB, the 4GB 770 costs almost as much as the 780.

Would i get 2 years out of this? With the 2GB?

What do you think about my rig in general? Pretty future proof with the 770 sli?

Thanks in advance for any feedback etc :)

as far as i can tell your going to be pretty future proof with that and its what i myself will be using at some point as they are quite the little power house cards for their price and you got a good solid cpu as well so i wouldnt worry to much if at all

if u could wait i would get the new amd cards wen they come out and upgrade the cpu 2 a 4770k for maximum futureproofing (or u could get amd fxn3, i dunno)

Theres not much between the 4770k and the 2600k. From what i understand the 2600k overclocks better

2gb won't be enough for 4k

I dont think i'll go 4k as its too expensive for what it is

Get two 3GB HD 7970s, 2GB of VRAM will not be enough very soon, Linus has already stated that he will be upgrading his 590 because the 1.5GB per chip is already being maxed out.

7970s are already incredibly inexpensive so you'll easily be able to afford water-blocking them both & they perform just as well as 770s but overclock incredibly well giving them a slight edge especially in memory bandwidth intensive games like Max Payne 3 and FP32 intensive games like Crysis Warhead.

AMD tomorrow via a new drivers is going to release their new frame pacing technology called Heart Beat™ that will smooth out frames in CrossfireX.

If you're going to waterblock the gpu, you might as well get a 780..

I wouldn't trust a 780 to handle next gen games at high settings and resolutions.  3gb is more than enough for now, but with games like Crysis 3 using 3gb at 1440p imagine how demanding they'll be in two or three years.  The 590 is a great example: a flagship card from two years ago simply isn't enough for today's resolutions and games.  I'm not saying that you shouldn't get a 780 or 770, just don't expect them to be future proof... unless you're getting a few Titans, then you're going to have to sacrifice settings and resolution in a few years.

Where are you getting the Avexir RAM?

I got it direct from the factory. I worked with them on some distro stuff
