650W Vs 750W Power Consumption

Jeet Chowdhury
Go to solution Solved by WoodenMarker,

The Seasonic X is better and has a fanless mode.

Hello I Am Building A New System:

Intel I7 4790K

ASUS Z97-A

CORSAIR VENGEANCE PRO 16 GB

ASUS NVIDIA GTX 970 4 GB

2 SSD OF 128 GB EACH

4 HDD OF 2 TB EACH

1 DVD RW OPTICAL DRIVE

My Current Power Supply Is CORSAIR CX430. I Want To Upgrade This To Something Modular RM 650 Or RM 750 Of CORSAIR....

I Have A 1000VA Home UPS That Give Me Backup Incase Of Power Failure... Now My Question Is If I Buy A 750W Power Supply Will It Consume More Power Than The 650W Or Will Use Same As 650. As Per System Requirements.... Because If It Use More Power I May Have Problem With Home Backup UPS.

Thank You Guys In Advance....

The psu only pulls as much power as it needs.

The RM650 is already plenty for sli.

Seasonic, XFX and Antec are all very reliable brands when it comes to PSUs.

I am from India. And RM 750 cost here around 9000 INR and RM 650 around 8400 INR.... :-)

If you're not planning to sli, a 500w would already be plenty:http://www.flipkart.com/corsair-smps-cx500-500-watts-psu/p/itmdzasggssybnqg?pid=PSUD5XZ4CEUXM4GH&ref=L%3A1724288194289748444&srno=p_18&query=psu&otracker=from-search

If you are, 650w: http://www.flipkart.com/seasonic-s12g-650-650-watts-psu/p/itmduu8wmcnzuskz?pid=PSUDUU8WCUTJU9HZ&ref=L%3A-9001856399001632473&srno=p_43&query=psu&otracker=from-search

It's better but not necessarily worth the extra money over the G series.
