Zotac GTX 970 Dual Fan 4gb. Is this a good card playing at a resolution of 1368 x 768?

John Tom

Very overkill for 1366*768, you really need a better monitor.

That card is overkill for that resolution. Its good, just dont expect it to be quiet and cool at the same time.

Planning on trying StarCitizen (Highly recommended)? STAR-NR5P-CJFR is my referal link

That card is fine at 1440p..... You might be better off getting a new monitor than a GPU.

You need a 1080p monitor to be able to really enjoy such a graphics card in games...otherwise i would recommend you save money and go with a GTX 750ti...which can maxout most games at such a low resolution.

Why does Zotac have high TDP and has coil whine?

Does anyone have experience problems with this brand?

Very overkill as said above,

a R9 380 and new monitor would be better

It's just not recomened,

you are running a laptop grade resolution on a very expensive GPU

You would be better off getting a cheaper GPU and a better monitor

My Brother has a Gtx 750Ti but it can only do low-med in witcher 3

That card for that resolution is more than 200% fine to use, I would advise you replace your monitor with 1080P for Full HD 60FPS+ gaming rather than half HD at 768p

It's good enough at playing 1440p which is almost 4 of your monitors haha, you can either get a $125 GPU and save money or buy a modern display

CPU:  Intel i7-4790K      Cooler:  Noctua NH-D14     GPU: ZOTAC GTX 1070 TI MINI     Motherboard:  ASUS Z97 Gryphon     RAM:  32GB G Skill Trident X

Storage: 2x 512GB Samsung 850 EVO (RAID 0) / 2TB Seagate Barracuda     PSU: 850W EVGA SuperNova G2     Case: Fractal Design Node 804

For that resolution get a 750Ti.

The 970 is great, but you're never going to use it and you're basically wasting money

My Brother has a Gtx 750Ti but it can only do low-med in witcher 3

you could also look at a GTX 960 which is significantly faster than the GTX 750ti while costing a lot less than a GTX 970...other options would be R9 280/285 or R9 380 from AMD.

If you plan on getting a 1080p HD monitor any time soon, then the GTX 970 make sense...but as mentionned already this card is a 1080p/1440p card, resolition bellow 1080p won't require such a powerful GPU.
