So one my friends wants to edit a video he made and does not have any editing software can you give any suggestions? All help is appreciated :). (He have already used his sony vegas trial)

You could always get a full version of sony vegas through...other means.

i suggest buying premiere pro. its going quite cdheap nowadays....or get virtualdub...bit complicated but you can get some good editing done and its free...

use a trial of a different version of sony vegas.

Blender is a great editing tool if you can learn it. It is free.

blender is a 3D modeling program,he needs editing.

Theres trials out there for vegas and the likes, but if you want anything like the youtubers use youll either have to pay or get a free subscription deal. Unless you want to use something like windows movie maker

Actually you can edit videos using Blender. I've never tried it, but I think it's more like a VFX/compositing tool.

Lightworks has both free and pro versions.

Avidemux does basic editing and encoding.

Personally I use Sony Movie Studio Platinum Suite whenever I want to do editing the prices range from 40 to 80 depending on what version you get.

Lightworks is completely free, http://www.lwks.com/ don't pirate something when there is a competent free solution.

Use http://eyeframeconverter.wordpress.com/ to convert video files into a format compatible with the free version of Lightworks (as most mainstream formats require licencing costs which is why there is a paid version of Lightworks)

Does the sony vegas trial allow you to use the full version of the program? if so, I may know a perfectly legal way to get it free. Some companies allow you to download the trial as many times as you want so he can just download it every 30 days and keep it as long as he needs it.
