hey so i am looking for a case that will not only be silent for a workstation/ gaming set up with x99. But also keep cool able to be safely placed on a desk and then a window to show off my parts as well as us rgb lights for that cool factor.

Does such a case exist or am i basically looking for a unicorn

if i go enthoo would it be better to just get the luxe? also wouldn't they be too heavy to go on top of a desk?

The Luxe is more expensive, it takes away from the value of the $99 Enthoo Pro.  The Luxe is just a fancier version, same bones.

It is not going to crumble any budget desk.

+1 Enthoo Pro...

Has all that.  The 6 fan hub controller covers the silence part.

thats not what silence is

a fan controller to turn down fan speed is not a silent case

you can put a fan controller in any case, that does not make it silent

silent is side panels lined with sound dampening foam, restricted air vents, and sound isolating shapes/compartments

the R5 is one of the most "silence" oriented cases, its still not extremely silent

the enthoo pro is far from a silent case

Yeah.

FT05 is kinda a silent case, has sound dampaning foam, and other silent features, but, semi-loud AP181's

SO its kinda medium

Wait...

Controlling the moving parts to inhibit the sound they make IS, in fact, a contributory factor to making a silent case.  Other than coil whine, moving parts are the reason a PC makes noise.

I would argue that a case is not oriented towards silence UNLESS it has control over it's moving parts... or you could go passive completely.

yeah no

I would never use the stock fans in any of the phanteks cases if I wanted anything close to silent

I don't like you, leave me alone...

jk... I still think you are only partly right, and mostly wrong =)

built in fan controllers suck, on any case

to have proper control of fans you need a software fan controller, with PWM, with QUIET fans, and vibration dampening.
