Can't overclock Xeon

I recently decided to overclock my Xeon 1230 v2. I know that I would only be able to change the multiplier so I went and attempted to change it, but it prevented me from doing so, not allowing me to go beyond at 3.30 GHz. Is there a way I could bypass this or could it be my motherboard?

Motherboard: Asus P8 B75-M/CSM

Pretty sure Xeon (at least that one) have locked multiplier meaning you can't OC them.

I know @ZetZet knows a lot about Xeons and has one of those.

lol xeons arn't ment to be overclocked. that xeon you have has no FSB. can your mobo lock the multiplier so the cpu can run at 3.7ghz. but anyways it's not worth it. 

 

a better gpu would be better than an overclock

Xeons are not meant to be overclocked. You should've gotten the 4790K if you wanted to overclock.

Xeons aren't meant for overclocking, also that board doesn't allow you to overclock anyway I think

This board will not let you overclock it by use of the multiplier. You may be able to get a little extra performance through a BCLK overclock.

wouldnt bother messing with the BCLK it can mess with stability, then you have to downclock ram and change timings etc, i tried on my 4790.
