@Danielmeza Your motherboard only supports DDR4 RAM, you chose DDR3. Also, that power supply is for basic builds, I would recommend using something like an EVGA 750 G2. Mainly worry about changing out the RAM to DDR4, since the X99 platform only supports that. Everything else is good and should be compatible.

you have DDR3 RAM that motherboard only supports DDR4 RAM, and I would get a 750 watt power supply to have some leg room and 80 plus gold fully modular. other than that looks good

First off, https://www.pcpartpicker.com/ is a much better tool for planning PCs.

Second, you don't need the thermal paste, the cooler you have comes with some. Third, the RAM you have listed is DDR3, not DDR4. 2011-3 socket CPUs only run on DDR4 memory. Fourth, the Noctis 450 doesn't have any 5.25" drive bays. therefore you would not be able to install the DVD drive. And last, you need a power supply. It needs to be ATX size, be at least 500W for the system you are planning, and you want one that is 80 Plus rated, and modularity helps a ton. Again, use PCPartPicker. It will correct your mistakes you are making and find the cheapest places you can get these components.

Edit: I see you have a power supply, but for the kind of components you plan on purchasing, I would recommend a better PSU.

3rd party thermal paste isn't needed, but it sure saves you a pain in the ass if you ever need it later down the road for whatever reason.

Similar to what you said, I also see a problem with your RAM. The motherboard that you have selected does not support the 1600 MHz RAM that you have selected as well as the memory not supporting use with the X99 Chipset. I would upgrade to some DDR4.

For your LG drive only supports Windows XP, Vista, or 7. I might be concerned about this.

I also see (like @byalexandr) that your case doesn't have drive bays that would support the Blu-Ray drive that you have selected.

So thanks for reading guys, if this post sucked, I'm not sure what you can do, but if you liked it, go 'head and hit that like button, or maybe add me as a friend. There's no reason you should use the entire tube for the inital application. My Seidon 120V came with an entire tube and I only used a pinch of it.

The H100i GTX doesn't come with a tube. It comes with a slab of thermal paste pre-applied to the copper cold plate.

Interesting. I thought for what you pay they would give you an entire tube of thermal paste. Even my $50 Cooler Master Seidon 120V came with an entire tube.

It's only Cooler Master that does that AFAIK (Noctua and others too), most likely since they manufacture thermal paste and doesn't cost them much extra to include it with their coolers. Corsair on the other hand would have to source thermal paste from a third party if they wanted to supply excess with the cooler. Though I'm just going by my logic and have no real evidence to back it up.

Well if Corsair is such a large company that is almost, if not as big as Cooler Master I don't see why they couldn't take the extra step. Interesting thing, though. I have never owned any Corsair products, only Cooler Master, so what do I know?

Other than things the other people have said, I really hate that case but I guess if you like it go for it. I wouldn't buy the 980 ti at that price. Retail price is $650 but stock is low so you have people selling it for higher than that. 2 980s won't be a bad option either if you can't get a 980 ti. It's probably more appropriate for 4k anyway. A single 980 ti will still struggle to get over 60 fps in modern games. Also for the monitor, I would get the Dell P2715Q instead because it's IPS.

Also the MSI X99S SLI plus motherboard will be a better option at half the cost. That Asus motherboard is great looking but not worth the money. You should not be spending more on your motherboard than the cpu.

X99 platform with that PSU? Ok...

What are you going to use the PC for?

Is your budget 3000$?

Do you have any preferences? Color scheme? Form factor?

That's actually pretty common. Only companies that make their own thermal paste will usually give a whole tube of it.

Haha, true. Pretty soon Corsair is going to have Corsair Gaming thermal paste with their tramp stamp on it. Maybe even tell you to apply it to your processor by drawing the logo with paste.

I think you mean that X99 motherboard with the lowest end X99 processor. With that board, I'd go a 5960X. It also looks like he is going to game and be editing, why else would you go X99?

You can get the Blu-Ray reader/writer if you really need it.

Other than that, that's what I'd get, you don't necessarily need to spend the 4K$ ;) Tho, you can go with a better CPU...
