you can run it off your CPU, you cant run it with a AMD card EVEN if you have a nvidia card in as soon as the AMD card is detected the pshyx is automaticlly ran by cpu

Turns out that the gtx 970 not best any more now we have the best card in the market which is AMD R9 380 it has more vram and overclockeble

Depends if you prefer Nvidia or AMD. I prefer Nvidia because of their software and drivers.

Well I don't know about now a days but if you want a good GFX card on the cheap then like 280/280x is a good bang for the buck card

or you could but the r9 200 series, 290 or 290x for dirt ass cheap. I'm a 970 owner but believe me I didn't get it for price/performance. I even paid 50 more and waited a few months to get a reference one. 

There are many arguments to not pick the 970. The 380 is not a good one.

AMD drivers aren't that bad, and Nvidia drivers have their own set of problems. This is coming from 980 ti owner.
