The worst Mem Leak to ever grace a PC

Go to solution Solved by DigitalHermit,

I know theres alot of chrome but when i shut them all down i only gain about 5% of my Mem back

have you disabled Chrome's run in background 'feature'??

Honestly at this point im wanting to kill someone, My RAM keeps booting into a total usage of 65 - 70 %. This means my 16gb is roughly put down to 6.5 gb which does not sit very well with me. I have tried restarting and nothing, I've tried turning off the PSU manually and once again nothing. I even removed the fucking RAM from my MOBO and once again nothing. This is honestly getting ridiculous and really stating to piss me off.

Anyway if you could help me solve this issue it would be greatly appreciated.

Open up task manager and find which process is using all your memory.

but you haven't tried looking for the culprit? If a startup program is actually leaking restarting doesn't work.

i idle at 4-4.5 GB of RAM.

check start up programs with msconfig.

winkey+R type msconfig

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

Ok so a small update ( just so you know specifics) The only things that start up with my PC aside from Microsoft services is : Nvidia backend, Nvidia capture server Proxy and AVG. That is literally it.

Found in the task managers performance tab,......... resource monitor, open that,... then in the memory tab.....What does your bottom usage bar look like.? An amount 'reserved' for no reason?

Post a snip of task manager or it didn't happen.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

Yeah I'd like to see what is going on in your task manager.  Close any programs and post a screenshot, sorted by memory allocation such as mine.
