Made In Canada

I am trying to get best bang for my buck on a GPU for 350$ or cheaper if its better.  I am wondering, how much os a difference is there between the 4gb GTX 960 and the 4GB GTX 970?

A very big difference. 4GB 960 isn't worth the money unless using them in SLI

It can. Why would they put 4GB if you can't use it all

A 970 can fucking max everything out at 1080p, the 960 is for scrubs who think PS4s are more powerful than PCs.

Big difference, the GTX 970 is way faster than the 960.

R9 390>GTX 970>GTX 960 Go with the R9 390 due to the fact it uses the 15.15 drivers, has much better tesselation then the 2xx series(though the 15.15 drivers will probably be available for the 2xx series soon). It slightly out performs the 290x, and trades blows with the 970. In addition, it comes with 8 gigabytes of vram. It performs the best, however, at high resolutions(1440p and 4k). That's not to say it isn't capable of maxing games at 1080p either. So you get the performance of a 970/290x and twice the vram for the same price. I'd go for the 390.

The 970 has the same problem.

Huh? I think he means that you'll never actually use up all 4GB on the 960 because you'll run out of GPU power with one card before you run out of VRAM.

Neither variant of the 960 suffers from the 970 "vramgate" issue

Yeah, the vramgate issue. The 960 doesn't have that problem.

Not true, I play at 1440p and I'm fine...like many others I've talked to who do the same.

When using 8xMSAA @ 1440p its a given, but we can agree thats a stupid move to make anyway.

Some games ARE worse than others though, but nowhere near unplayable or stuttery mess's people think its gunna be like.

The 970 is a sweet 1440p card. Only NOT when its an unoptimized piece of shit... like Batman  :)

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

What?

with the R9 390, you can't use all of its 8 gigs of vram in games without it lagging. Same with the GTX 960
