What to do with my extra $900??

PhegMan

Ok so I got my pay from work and I have $900 left over from it, my pc needs and upgrade and I want your opinions on what to get.

My Specs:

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H77M-D3H

CPU: i7 3770

CPU Cooler: Coolermaster Hyper 412 Slim

Case: Thermaltake v3

Storage: 1x Seagate Barracuda 1TB, 1x Seagate Barracuda 2TB, 1x WD Green 1TB

Graphics Card: Asus HD7850-DC2-2GB-V2

Memory: 4x4gb Kingston hyperX @1600mhz

Monitor Viewsonic VX2753MH-LED

PSU: Corsair CX600M

I definitely need a new Motherboard, I want 1155 because my CPU is good for now, and a new case is also a must as my current one is horrible!

Is the spacing and mounting hardware for 1155 and 1150 the same? If so I want to use a water cooler like the H100i in my next build.

Are the crossfire drivers any good now and is it worth getting another 7850?

EDIT: Pricing wise, Im in Australia so everything is a bit overpriced. Refer to Centrecom or PC Case Gear if you would choose by price

Also my peripherals are in no need of upgrade (Logitech G110, Corsair M60)

Thanks

dont get a new motherboard because you cant overclock much with a 3770 and there is no need for a cpu cooler get a nice case likeva c70 or r4 and spend the rest on a 770 or 780

as for gpu, wait for volcanic islands

better monitor ? speakers / headphones/audio periferals?  oculus rift consumer version? razer hydra? no idea mate, just save it and buy when you really need it :D

your "poor" PC is above average, only your GPU could be enhanced. also SSD would be cool, 250Gb

Honestly?
Get an SSD and save the rest. thats a solid build and really has no need to upgrade any parts of it. a second 7850 is a good idea, but i'd wait till the drivers come out.

SSD definitely.  Samsung 840 (or 840 Evo when it hits).

If you hate the case then sure, go for a new one.

Other than that, you're fine.  A 7850 should be just fine for 1920x1080, and if you're keeping your current CPU, motherboard/cooling upgrades are not necessary.

Those are actually decent specs. I would get an SSD and a Fractal Design Define R4. Have you thought about building a Windows Home Server? You could do a nice build for fairly cheap.

Spoiler

If you don't mind a larger mid tower go with a Corsair C70, SSD at least for the OS, a GTX 780 would be a beast GPU. 900 should be plenty to cover it.

I would just get a new case and save the rest until the new AMD GPUs hit the market. Maybe consider an SSD for booting, although with your current budget, you could definitely afford a 1TB SSD and throw a decently sized gaming library on it.

All I can think of right now is just because you have some extra money doesn't mean you should spend it.

But that probably is not the answer your looking for.

SSD and new GPU (7970 / 770 / 780)

I would also change the case, but only for aesthetic reasons.

I get that it is not a poor pc in the eyes of many of you but I do a lot of graphics, video editing and such as well as gaming in my spare time soo yea..

I might go with a 770, SSD, and R4 but I dont like that i'd be wasting my 7850

Go to the bank and ask for 900$ in 1 dollar bills. Then roll them up with 1 100$ bill on the outside of the roll.

Life is pain. Anyone who says any different is either selling something or the government.

Define r4: 100 dollars.

Samsung 128gb: 120 dollars.

2 gtx 760: 500.

Cpu isn't needed of upgrading, non K versions sometimes are much cooler and overclock better but there are limitations.

Radeon H100i: 150 dollars.

Best you can get.

I'd be content with a SSD.

Possibly a GTX780 or the new 9000 series AMD graphics cards.

Get an ssd: Samsung 840 120GB or 250GB. Skip the 840 Pro. The performance difference is negligible compared to the price gap.

If you need more gaming performance, get a 7950/7970 and sell your 7850.

You don't need a new motherboard.

The 350D is a very nice case if you like the looks.

1150 and 1155 use the same mounting for coolers. Crossfire drivers are fine but your motherboard isn't well suited for more than one gpu.

Worry about your next build later. Your current setup up with an ssd will fly and it'll be a while before you need a new system.

If you ever need help with a build, read the following before posting: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/3061-build-plan-thread-recommendations-please-read-before-posting/

I would get a Samsung 840 SSD, a 7950 (MSI Twin Frozr 3/HIS IceQ X2/Sapphire Dual X), and a Corsair C70. Save the rest for future builds. There is no point in getting an H100i or a new motherboard because your 3770 does not have an unlocked multiplier and you wouldn't be able to overclock much. The board sizes and mounting points are the same on LGA1155 boards.

I really like my phantom 410 (the full towers look pretty cool to me too. if you want to do a custom loop or something insane for $400 that'd be dope but theres no immediate pay off expcept it being cool af.  You really dont need a new mobo, you shouldn't run cf and you cant oc your 3770 anyway.  I say get a NZXT phantom 410,610 or when the 530 comes out that'd be a great upgrade. You could buy a nice lcd fan controller for your 5.25 bays, those are sick. Mabye do a rehaul of your fans if you have some chitty loud ones.  If you were to get a new mobo http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131837, but seriously a new case.  I'd probably buy an h60/80 or a cm seidon 240m.  Your 412s is more than enough for the 3770 but it don't look to good.  I gota hyper t4 i wanna throw away so bad right now.
