Ehh... I dunno. Maybe. If you can see it tested or have some kind of warranty.

But what are you looking to spend? Maybe the R9 280X

The gtx 970 is a bit on the pricey side and it is kind of a bit overkill for 1080p gaming right? I would like it to be under $250 but I may be able to stretch my budget for the gtx 970 if it is really worth it.

If you can't get a 970 the 960 is an excellent 1080p card that will run most games on high or even ultra settings depending on the game. The 970 on the other hand is probably the best 1080p card for the price and will max out most if not all games at 1080p.

Get the 970 so you can really max out games in 1080p.

for 1080p a 970 is still the best option, a 290x might better price/performance and better for 1440p, but I might not put it in a microATX (although that coolermaster would be fine)

I would get a 970. Although it seems a little overkill for what you want to be doing, it will really help in the future when you may decide to switch do a higher resolution, or more intensive games come out. Definitely be sure to get the 4GB version of the 970, as this will also help you out later on.

If you wanted to switch up to a higher resolution soon, then you could always throw in another 970.

All 970s are 4gb. They can't fix the memory partitioning, it isn't an issue at 1080p. And yeah I wouldn't call the 970 overkill for 1080p

these are the best options. the R9 390 is slightly ahead of the 970 by like... 6-9 FPS on average. Nothing major.

its not really pricey or overkill for 1080p if you wanna max everything out
