So I see Linus' new video on Youtube(36 Cores, 72 Threads, and Two Titan Xs - Our New INSANE Rendering Machine Part 3) and ask "Why does he need to put a GPU into his server? What purpose does that serve? 

 

the server is for rendering, so after your edit, you send the video to the server to render

Apart from the rendering part, afaik the machine doesn't have a gpu at all. So it needs a pci-e one anyway, or no display for you.

Thats the same for most servers.. not an issue, it's why they have a dedicated nic for controlling the server and not network traffic.

 

 

But for this build it makes sense for GPU acceleration in rendering.

I don'T PreSS caPs.. I juST Hit THe keYboARd so HarD iT CriTs :P
