Why is RAM so expensive now?

I have been wondering the same thing. and how is DDR2 ram soo expensive!

 

And has anyone ever used these?

they dont produce ddr2's like they used to before so its to be expected

Well prices have gone up a bit, they certainly haven't doubled.

It's mainly because manufacturers are cutting back on production because of the decrease in demand.

it might have something to do with hynix going out of business (atleast as far as i know)

and they did make most of the stuff for as far as i know

It's like you guys don't watch the livestreams or something. Linus said that Memory Manufacturers are selling more memory chips for phones, tablets, and laptop companies... while desktop memory companies are left dead last in line to buy memory.

Prepare yourselves, i think we are coming to the era of ddr4 and i think its coming soon. Back on topic i think its because the companies realized they can make more money so slowly and for no reason they increased the price so that profit increases.

I built my PC a year ago and havent looked at ANY parts since...

2 questions:

1. Why are hard drives slightly more expensive?

2. WTF happened to RAM? Like seriously its doubled?? Why?!

Hard drive prices are slowly going back to normal, the price was double what it is now a few months ago due to natural disasters in Asia.

 

as for ram, idk I also saw the crazy pricing when I was looking to buy an extra 8 gigs of ram.
