that should work, this game has a lot of issues running on 7 and above, without some tweaks the game will never launch on 8 and above

Ridska here ,

 

I got the Fallout 3 GOTY edition on my steam , and i want to start my first play session BUT ,

the game wont launch , i press play in steam and when this shows up ( picture down below ) .

P.s , trying to mod the game and new to modding .

Press the play button there? Many Bethesda games have menu's like that before it launches the game

Right click the fallout exe under whatever install directory you put it under and select properties. Click the Compatibility tab. Check box to run as Administrator and with Compatibility mode for WinXP Service Pack 3.

 

also go to the config file in your documents folder, and make sure that number of cores is set to the actual amount you have. 

the config file is called 'config.ini' (iirc)

i use to have the second best link in the world here, but it died ;_; its a 404 now but it will always be here
