Would A Laptop Cooler Work On A Console ?

So my little sister is a console gamer and i noticed that the xbox gets very hot like to the point of if i left my hand there for 10 20 seconds it would burn my hand lol. But i was wondering what if i took a laptop cooler and placed the xbox on its side and placed a laptop cooler below it ? Anybody think that would work ? Just bored and thought i would ask lol.

Doesn't hurt to try if you already have the laptop cooler. Otherwise there's dedicated coolers for Xbox

I don't think the op is wanting to modify just placing the xbox on top of the fan....

I would try it, watch videos and make sure you know they internals before opening it up to make sure there is a chance it might work before you void the warranty. I like the idea though.

yes, as with "ban" only if you modify core components such as motherboard, dvd rom you might get banned. You can plop a watercooling setup and play since they dont have reason to check if a fan is working or not in order to log in to xbl.

and no laptop coolers actually wont work because 360 and Xbone have different component layout than laptops and much harder efficiently cool with laptop coolers, just get a fan for xbox if you are really worried (which you shouldnt)

You can't modify any components because its just a single pcb that nothing can be swapped out on, the only thing you can improve is cooling which they don't care about at all, I bought a Xbox 360 for 15$ because it wouldn't stay on for more than 20 seconds without overheating I replaced the thermal paste and it worked fine.
