STRIX GTX 970 anygood?

I Have finally decided that I am gonna get a strix gtx 970 but I have heard mixed reviews about this card with issues like coil whine and other problems. 

please let me know :D

not much problems. if you are really very particular in every single details then i can't help tho. personally using it rock solid performace on any triple a titles on 1080p.

It has/had power delivery issues dont know it that is fixed

It is quiet indeed

BUT id still go with the G1 gaming just because obvious reasons

Honestly from what I've read it is the worst of all the major brands of 970's. The Gigabyte G1 seems to be the highest recommended as it overclocks the highest. The EVGA SSC is what I just bought and is amazing, zero coil whine, decent cooling/noise, and overclocks fairly well (1500+ core). Also EVGA support is known for being great.

I'd argue it's one of the best.  If it has coil whine, they'll replace it, as it's supposed to be as quiet as possible.

Strix has hardware locked TDP past its max stock and It's terrible for overclocking.

I waited 3 weeks with a rma ticket to asus for my last psu killing my strix, and I had to message JJ and he had to get them to do anything about it.

G1 Gaming is much better for the money.

 

If I could do it over again I would have spent the extra $20 on the Gigabyte G1 Gaming over my EVGA GTX 970 SC. The EVGA is still a great card, but I can only get 1417 MHz stable while it seems like everyone with a G1 Gaming can get 1500+ MHz.

Yes, but the competition is much better. Other vendors have better fans (seriously, the Strix fans suck), and better board designs that allow for more overclocking.

Pascal Undervolting topic, get more out of your card with less power!

Why high refreshrate monitors look better even without Freesync/G-sync in one image.
Stutters, framedrops, "lag". How to provide detailed information with your "bottleneck" question, as well as a few solutions.

ah ok for sure, still make sure you get the acx 2.0+ cooler and not the regular acx 2.0. Has to have the plus. Also you may want to consider new AMD cards coming out, heard the pricing is crazy.

I have the 970 Strix. Runs cool and silent. Overclocks to about 1500Mhz on the core and 2Ghz on memory clocks (8Ghz?)
