Anyone else noticed how cheap RAM is?!

DDR3 is super cheap right now, G.Skill Ripsaws X 8GB DDR3-2133MHz is like $50!

Yup. I vaguely remember an article about how "RAM is going to get very cheap mid 2015" or something :P

I've noticed recently that DDR4 has dropped quiet a lot in price, in Denmark you can get G.Skill Ripjaws DDR4 16GB(4x4GB) for just over $200, which says alot, as they started out at just over $300.

And when it goes out of production when ddr4 becomes a neccesity it will rise again to ridiculous levels of price.

All I'm saying is we're in for a bumpy ride if DDR4 pricing is gonna be as volatile as DDR3s been! xD

nah, it happens all the time when we transition memory technologies. Same thing happened to DDR2 aswell.

It rightly should be dropping in price. It's taken long enough to recover after the factory fire that wiped out a large production of DDR3. It will go up in price a few month after skylake comes out, as DDR2 did, but is likely to stabilise at a price similar to what it has been I reckon.

Why would it be any different? The core components are really the same.

Because manufacturers are dicks and because it's a 4 now not a 3 they charge way more than they need to! :D
