There's 4GB

- 3.5GB works fine, full VROOOM VROOOM speed

- Last 0.5GB no full VROOM VROOOM like 3.5GB brother

- Games can stutter if they start to use +3.5GB (it's weird)

It doesn't really matter anyways, if a game uses +3.5GB the 970 is not going to be able to provide playable framerates.

TLDR: Don't worry.

^This.

By the time you need that last 512Mb of Vram, your card is ALREADY too slow at the certain detail levels you need to set to get there (even if it had 8gb of vram it would be shit-slow)

ie: Pushing 4K+AA on a 970.. LOL why? Even 1440p 8xMSAA IMO is pointless, using 4xMSAA or lower being fine and dandy without much visual loss at all that you can see.

But by the time your nearing 3.5GB Vram+ & your settings required to do so, make your GPU core cripple regardless of Vram.

yes ik all thank you though js makin sure thanks all!!!!

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz
