How to make a monitor die hehe

Br3tt96

How can I make my monitor die, without being obvious and then fix it later(wink wink)? Why might I be asking thou? The reason is because I'd really like to go 1440p or even 4k, but I can't justify the buy with my parents. I'd pay for it myself, but my parents said I already have a monitor why do I need another?

Here's my current monitor

open it, detach random cable, close it. probably would work.

I bet if you just tell your parents maybe they would pay for at least half, sell the old monitor, then work to pay for the rest.

Do you really need the SSD?  Do you really need 16 GB of ram?  Sell off the SSD and 8 GB of that ram and the monitor you have now and put the money towards a new one.  Also just because your parents questioned why you needed a new one did they say you could not go buy a new monitor?  The way you said it doesn't sound like it.  Also if you were going to destroy a monitor just so you can have an excuse to get something new makes you a little messed up.  Seriously find a proper way to upgrade to a 1440p monitor or higher.

Too many ****ing games!  Back log 4 life! :S

I actually have about $650 saved up, but I'll try and sell them on selling mine and upgrading. Anyone know a good 1440p or 4k for around $450? I mainly game so...

I mean I would say he does need the SSD because it is his boot drive seeing as it is 120gb and you can't do much more than OS on 120gb. 16GB of ram is nice to have, and that's all I have to argue for the ram.

Good reviews with this monitor: http://pcpartpicker.com/part/asus-monitor-pb278q

Yea my parents respect what I chose to spend money on because if I have a job and work for it, why should I not have control over it. They might not approve of what I do with it but they just allow me to do what I wish.

Yeah, probably in a year they won't care. Maybe she's calculated how much I've spent on my pc? I used her card with her permission and just gave her cash while purchasing stuff at certain times.

Yea I had to do this when I bought my nexus 6 from the Google play store, my mom was like whatever it's your money but if I was you I wouldn't do it.

Having by bank account linked to my PayPal was the best idea I ever had though.
