780TI SLI vs Single 980TI

frogzombie
Go to solution Solved by ShadowCaptain,

I am curious about getting into the new generation of cards. I currently have the Asus 780TI OC DCII in SLI. Is there any benefit to selling my current cards and getting a single 980TI? I currently play in 1440p and try to get to 144hz on it.

Honestly SLI 780tis are still very powerful and should perform better than a 980ti (in games that support SLI ofc)

Is it worth the push from a single 780ti to a 980ti then?

Might just wait for the next iteration of the ti but soo damn tempted haha

I would go with 980 Ti over 780 Ti SLI anyday. Then I would get another 980 Ti down the road for SLI.

Love cats and Linus. Check out linuscattips-fan-club. http://pcpartpicker.com/p/Z9QDVn and Asus ROG Swift. I love anime as well. Check out Heaven Society heaven-society. My own personal giveaway thread http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/387856-evga-geforce-gtx-970-giveaway-presented-by-grimneo/.

780ti sli beats a titan-x, the only thing restricting you would be vram but there are rumors dx12 may be able to stack the vram eventually of sli/crossfire...lets hope so!

If you're playing 1440 or above I would say yes. Especially having 3 more GB VRAM. 980 Ti will crush a 780 Ti as evidenced by benchmarks.

I also have 780ti sli and from what I can see, the performance is still slightly better than a single 980ti. But we have yet to see what 980ti sli will be like. It might be worth upgrading from 780ti sli to 980ti sli.

So much money though.
