I like how in Singapore that kind of speeds are common (All our ISPs offer that kind of speed for around SGD $40 (30USD) Per month), but barely anybody knows how to build a computer.

If you look at the LTT speedtest thread there are people getting 1000 down and 1000 up with 1ms ping

 

Also there are places in the world with 2Gbps now, so google fiber is no longer the fastest consumer internet speed

Ever tried streaming with 900+ MB down? You are lucky, It feels like all consumer internet in the UK is slow. I have fiber and my speedtest fluctuates alot. Sometimes it is up to 40 and sometimes it will drop to 20 if under load. Also got that solid 1.63 mb upload speed. Your up is faster than down, is that usual lol?

meh it's alright my town has gigabit internet, so not that good, compared to whats out there but still decent.

Co-worker has a dark fibre connection to his house, work paid for it, so he runs it at 10Gbps. Work has offsite backups there, as well as other locations. Unfortunately his internal network doesn't run at 10Gbps, so he can't provide speedtest.net results.

I would be surprised if the speedtest.net server were capable of 10gb
