Open Air Case used in Videos

Kendji

Hi!

I am a fan of open air cases, but unfortunatley I'm on a budget. I've seen this open air case Linus uses in some videos. I hate big bulcky cases, especially since I move often it is not allways practical to carry a big and heavy PC around. My questions are from where can I find it and could you make a review on it?

Yup, these are testbenches. Not really suited for day to day use as a regular PC case, in my opinion, but it does the job if you're constantly switching out components.

My current Case is a HAF XB Evo, and its about the best tradeoff between a test bench and regular case, but its one weakness is that you have to remove the motherboard tray to properly access the powersupply and drives in the bottom, which means removing graphic card(s) and/or radiators if any. I would recommend that over a test bench, because real test benches are expensive.

Thanks for the replies! All these test benches are expensive, I'm considering of learning how to make my own test bench. I want an professional grade, 100€/$+ is too expensive, half that might still work. IKEA shoe stands seem like a plausible competitor, just put the right screw holes in the right places right? :)

Anyone with this kind of experience, avg. DIY vs Professional?

Professional grade and cheap are usually mutually exclusive.

If you need something that functions similarly, just buy a cheap case and hack it to pieces.
