Can't access certain websites all of a sudden for no reason.

I just tried refreshing a webpage I had open and it won't connect. I figured the site was down so I tried going on 4chan. Can't connect. Also tried going on spigotmc.org (for minecraft) and I also can't connect. Tried googling the issue and I can't even get to the solution website (superuser.com)

 

I can get on other websites just fine. Not only that, but the sites I can't get on on my network, I can access fine using 3g on my phone. I've tried doing a power cycle on both modem and router, didn't fix the issue. 

 

 

I get errors such as "ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED" or "ERR_TIMED_OUT"

 

Some of the sites I have issues connecting to half load and look like it only generated text.

Have you tried using a VPN? Clear cookies from your browser, could be a DNS issue.

i just had the same thing all day today , but with every website for me , i figure in my case it was a program i had , but idk what one i rolled back my install .-. , deleted chrome and now using forefox lol

My ISP block lot's of websites with their DNS Inject (reddit, 4chan,piratebay and most porn/torrent websites are included)

google for DNS Crypt, and use it.

Hmm, I just tried an app called "opendoor" It's a VPN browser I believe. I was able to connect fine using that.

Are you using adblock? Try disabling it. On androids adblock I couldn't connect to newegg before

Interesting, just tried accessing piratebay to test that. I got "ERR_CONNECTION_CLOSED"

It's not adblock, I can't access the website in safari on my iphone or chrome on my pc.

Happening to me as well on chrome. I cannot access csgolounge and I am getting the same error message. Just started happening last night.

I did a google search "4chan does not connect" with a search time of one hour found this post.  I made an account specifically to reply to this.  My internet was working perfectly one hour ago, now 4chan does not work and the website you showed does not work.  I wonder if it has to do with the new day at midnight.  I am using a VPN Tunnelblick, it's free.  Very suspicious that 4chan and the other webite do not work at the same time yet other websites work.

 

 

Edit: Welp, refreshed and they both work now without using the vpn.  :mellow:  Some websites worked and some did not for a while.

Ok, all the websites I couldn't access suddenly started working again. Must be DNS or my ISP. Funny though, how 2 of the sites were 4chan and thepiratebay that I couldn't connect to.

Just look under /g/ it has a utorrent logo on it.
