Best Free Alternative to After Effects CC

Go to solution Solved by Sadistic_Potato,

Does blender have key frames?

After Effects is a motion graphics/compositing software that mainly deals with 2D, but can sufficiently handle 3D. Blender is a 3D modelling/texturing/rigging/animating software that can output a quality video, but it is very different from After Effects in the sense that it doesn't do 2D and it has nothing to do with compositing.

iMovie is the only free alternative that does what AE does, but that's only for OS X. Or Windows Movie Maker.

Hey I was wondering what the best free alternative is to after effects.

Don't think there is a free program that does exactly what AE does.

The most you can do is use Blender or something to make the 3D text.. But not something does it all in one package/
