I need a cooler to overclock the 4690k to around 4.5 that isn't as big as hyper 212 evo which is 159 mm, I'm looking for something around 155 mm.

I'd appreciate if you mention more than one model and as cheap as possible .

It's gonna be hard to get something smaller that'll take your chip to 4.5ghz. Especially with good temps during stressing. Now if your chip is a good one and require little volts you might be able to, but it's pretty much a gamble

Well, 4.5 more or less,, thing is the case can't handle hyper 212 without me bending the case , but a 155 mm would work

Was the Hyper 212 Evo able to keep your particular chip under control at 4.5 Ghz? That's a pretty big overclock and unless you have a golden sample I seriously doubt a smaller air cooler will be able to keep temps at a level I'd call respectable.

You either have to try and find a way to get a monster low profile cooler (I can't think of any) or far more likely pay up the cash for something better.

I would go with the noctua nh u12s

The NH-u12s is just as tall as the 212 Evo.

What case?

Where are you shopping/located?

It was called Segotep Fighter C, but I just changed the list to Segotep Warship Evo black and this one supports 165mm cooler , heh :) .

One problem is that with the Evo 212, and Asrock z97 pro3, corsair vengeance dimms might not fit

That's because Vengeance ram is stupid. Get ram that isn't ridiculously and unnecessarily tall.

They're available on Newegg for $32.50. The price will probably go up to $34.50 tomorrow, as it's currently on sale. Link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA4UF2DZ6565
