Why can't Steam give users 48 hours to test a game similar to Origin? I hate how Steam gives you a certain amount of days regardless of play or download times. It takes me like half a day to download 10 gigs.

 

Guess I'll be playing Street Fighter tomorrow after work.

I hold the belief that Origin care more than Valve. People will shit on me for that, but Origin offers a return policy. That's something to think about.

To be fair, my experience with Origin has been really good I must admit, even though I prefer Steam. So yeah, there are a few things from Origin that I do like.

I still find it funny that people think Origin should be at same feature level with Steam. Age difference between the two is key in features. Origin has gone for features that their customers will care about. Like customer support and refund policy. Steam has been there forever and has more time and changes to move forward other platforms.

And more to be fair. EA is publisher, not developer. Valve is developer. In the end, its up to developer to make their games compatible to other platforms. For most of EA games, the other platforms are consoles. For Valve with more community driven games its easier to go for other PC systems.

I'm a Linux fantatic but I don't understand why Steam having a Linux version makes it better than Origin. I would take the ability to return things or good support over cross-OS support because if the later happens without the former it makes the later useless.

Well my country is trying to sue Valve for their no-refund policy cause its against the law here. =)

Hmm true age is a factor, and I guess refunds is a most cause they publish some broken games. Valve does not make broken games but some of the other publishers on Steam does... But yeah the no-refund thing has to go and mods payment thing was bloody outrage! =D

I think Steam would have a lot of returns though. There are tons of crappy games on Steam, much more than on Origin.
