What was the worst experience you have had with computers? My worst experience was when our first PC died when i was 4 years old. It has a Pentium III, 512MB RAM and Windows ME. I was happily playing NFS II SE, when the computer blue-screened and then popped (literally the PSU popped). I was shocked and started crying, but my granddad couldn't fix the damn thing (he is actually really good with PCs, been building and upgrading them since the early 1990s).

So what has your worst experience been with computers, past and present?

I was just watching some YouTube video or something and my screen went black, PC shut off etc.

Wouldn't  turn on anymore. Since it was (is) a pre built I just brought it to the store (after consulting my uncle, who came to the same conclusion) which said the motherboard went dead and it had to be replaced.

Thank god it was under warranty and costed me nothing, except for time with my CPU.. Apparently they had to get a new motherboard from Czech Republic :P

My Secondary drive absolutely sucks. There have been many times where I swap around the sata config on hardware, or just remove it, and the computer wont even go to BiOS. It takes hours of troubleshooting and really isnt worth it.

There is also my old monitor. It was hardcore dying for the longest time. It was dying so hard, that for a good four months I couldn't turn it off, because when I did it took a good half hour to get it to boot up again. Then, 6 months ago It finally went kill. RIP in Peace you Westinghouse piece of shit.

Bluescreens and stutters at least one per day ... Might be cause by virus but the drive have been wiped twice ...

... Life is a game and the checkpoints are your birthday , you will face challenges where you may not get rewarded afterwords but those are the challenges that help you improve yourself . Always live for tomorrow because you may never know when your game will be over ... I'm totally not going insane in anyway , shape or form ... I just have broken English and an open mind ...

Good question. I actually like this.

So It all started when I ordered my first legitimate computer. before that, I had a desktop that wasn't that great, and a Xbox 360. So this HP was a Touchsmart T2? (Don't remember it very well)

It had one of the worst screens, 4GB of ddr3, 500GB hard drive, and it was great for about a year. Then as you know things die, and it eventually died. I took it to HP and they said it was my fault somehow. After 3 tries, I finally gave up. Bought a Macbook Air, been happily using it for 3 years now, and building my First PC now. That stupid HP. Hate it. Won't even dare to buy another HP product again.

Using a metal bolt as a standoff where no standoff needed to be. Result = a lot of heat.

When we first got a digital camera in the Windows 98 days, constantly formatting/reinstalling windows and NEVER remembering to back anything up. We lost a shit tonne of photos thanks to me doing that.

I remember watching my little brother as he was watching a Spongebob episode on Nickelodeon's website. Then suddenly the CRT screen (HP 17" screen) started spazzing out and making high pitched noises (those you can only hear as a kid, or someone with sensitive hearing, like me). I turned it off as quick as I could and it left a burn smell in the room for a few hours. It was pretty freaky, since I never saw a CRT monitor fail. Later my dad brought it to the recycling center.

And some random stuff happened. I once tore a Compaq case apart because well the plastic was in a terrible condition and it just broke when force was applied. I dropped an GeForce FX 5200 by accident. I killed a motherboard by playing Team Fortress 2 continously at High settings on an iGPU. This caused my parents to not trust me PC wise for 3 years.

Yeah me too, for about half a year after that. We still have an 90's JVC widescreen CRT in our living room that hasn't failed once an still looks great at 576i50. It will be replaced by a good modern TV in the near future though.
