What's the system used for? Rest of specs? Why fanless?

You can give any card a fanless mode with a a custom bios flash

Not every card has a custom bios ready-made .

That... I'm looking to spend about  u$s 150 on a videocard with fanless mode.

Thanks!

Well, with an i7, GTX 1080, Full tower and flashy lights, it can obviously only be for one thing:

The pc is the one in my signature... I'm planning on making a custom super small case and i want it to be dead silent when idling. I use that pc for spreadsheets and netflix but i want it to have a videocard for the ocasional gameplay.

Sold my build..

Wouldn't recommend it bud. The days of passively cooled GPU's is long gone for now..[insert SOC stuff here]

I dont want it to be passively cooled.. I just dont want the fans spinning at idle. (i know that's passiveley cooling but just when idling)

Sold my build..

The absolute cheapest is some older passive cooled card, but don't think you want that..

I am not sure what would be fit for you..

Not sure what has fanless mode and stuff.. Maybe the 750 Ti is for you, since I think it runs pretty cool?

Do you know how to make a HD 7850 fanless?

What 7850 do you have?

-snip-

Any GPU you want really.

That's not happening with aRVZ01.

No, no no. You don't just turn of the fans on any regular graphics card without modding the PCB. If you turn off the fans during Idle, and let them ramp up at a certain point, you better know what you're doing. That guy from DiYperks modded his ram and VRM chips with heatsinks.

No, no no. You don't just turn of the fans on any regular graphics card without modding the PCB. Stop perpetuating this.

Flashing the bios doesn't require any modding to the pcb.

But if you flash the BIOS, and have no passive cooling on key PCB components, you risk damaging something. That's what I meant.

Flashing the bios is to remove the lower fan speed limit set by the manufacturer--it doesn't disable the fan.

I have a Sapphire HD 7850 2GB OC

Have you tried setting a custom fan curve with software like Msi Afterburner?

But you can set the lower speed limit to zero and then configure it in Mai afterburner

Personally wouldnt risk passively cooling any 'recent' gpu.

Just not worth the risk. Id just set the fan profile to about 20% when idling. will be pretty much silent but still have some form of cooling going on.

..Did you reply to the wrong member?

Personally wouldnt risk passively cooling any 'recent' gpu.

7850's run pretty cool and usually doesn't need much cooling at idle.

I've tried setting a custom fan curve with trixx but if i set the fans to 0 RPM they keep spinning at about 15%

Have you tried using Msi Afterburner?
