The ram isn't the stuff I would actually get, I'm getting 2133 Kingston ram http://pricespy.co.nz/product.php?p=1257767

The psu is there because it offers me headroom for a good gpu later on.

The psu has pretty bad ratings, has more than one rail which is not recommended and isn't 80 plus or higher. Plus, coolermaster isn't known for their good psus.

These would be better options:

http://nz.pcpartpicker.com/part/antec-power-supply-hcg620

There's also the thing with diminishing returns after 1866 ram. See if you can get cheaper 1866 ram instead.

Also, avoid large heatsinks on the ram so you won;t run into cpu heatsink problems in the future.

From a lot of benchmarks I've seen the difference from 1866 and 2133 is an increase of 3-5 fps on things like battlefield.

Unfortunately there are only a few types of ram I can justify buying as they have to be either black or red. 105 is the cheapest for quality red 1866 g skill ram and finding 2133 black Kingston ram is just great.

Good reasoning. Go for it then.

I also went for your antec choice, no point on cheaping out on a psu and modular is sexy. Also picked a cheap antec case.

Wait...why not just got for the list of parts I provided earlier?

Goddamn it...

Why didn't anyone stop me on my APU tangent.

Why was I blind!

Ill swap the his to a powercolour because of the colour scheme, identical price. Ill drop the 1TB and get 250gb blue and get ram with a black heatspreader or something and that'll be my build!

Might change the case also.

Thanks bro.

http://nz.pcpartpicker.com/p/1hVEF Ignore the motherboard it's only there cause the asrock isn't and its the same price. The ram I'm thinking of getting corsair vengeance from I focus cause they have at 73 dollars but I don't know if its legit so that's why the g skill is there.

Didn't add in the video card as it isn't listed and none are the same price.

Would this be my build finished?

Seriously? You decide to drop to 250 gigs instead of the crappy WD?

What's wrong with it? Windows 8 is what 20 gb, leaves me over 200 gb of storage. I have a 80gb hard drive right now I think that isn't full. My steam library might be like 30gb if I'm lucky.

7200rpm is also plenty for me, if not I can always get a new drive would rather get the more important components.

OK, then, if that's what you want, then you should get an ssd that size instead. You will have a noticeable diference over an HDD.

Edit: I would get a Samsung 840 250 GB or an Intel 520 Series 250 GB. They are one of the best bang for your buck out there.

Do you not understand that he's on a budget? He stated that he has 800 nzd, and an SSD is minimum around 1/3 of his budget!

You don't need to convert it, just use PCPartPickers website, select New Zealand as your location, and browse for the parts.

Yup apparently shipping a few pc parts requires at least a 20 dollar price hike. Not to mention we don't have a big it store they're all smaller ones. If I ever become rich ill donate to nz for us to get stuff like a connection to the us and cheaper pc parts.

The ssd thing is nice but its an unrealistic goal. I don't mind waiting a few seconds longer for my games.

I'm pretty happy with this build, it's a good price but if I want to overclock would I need a better psu? Also for cross firing if I ever do that? I don't mind buying a better psu.

Was thinking maybe my psu?

What's your list so far?

It looks solid. You could run up to a 7870 with your psu so unless you're heavy on graphics, no need to get a better one.
